This project focused on transforming a small bungalow into a modern, spacious duplex, designed to make the most of a narrow urban lot while staying within budget.
The Challenge
Working with a tight footprint and limited budget, the goal was to:
- Deliver a design that stands out from typical spec builds
- Maximize livable space
- Create a layout that appeals to a wide range of buyers or tenants
Our Approach
We reimagined the property as a 3,000 sq. ft. duplex, focusing on simple but impactful design decisions.
- Introduced oversized windows to bring in natural light
- Used light, earthy tones to create a warm and open feel
- Designed thoughtful architectural details and nooks to add character
We also planned for a future garden suite, allowing the property to grow in value over time.
The Result
The finished home feels bright, functional, and well-balanced, proving that even on a narrow lot, it’s possible to create a space that feels open and inviting.
The flexible layout makes it suitable for a variety of living arrangements, while the clean, modern design gives it a distinct edge in the market.
